Vladimir Belov (1906 - 1989)
Belov was a brilliant concert pianist who abruptly ended his performing career (reportedly after a traumatic onstage blackout), and devoted himself to teaching. The only occasions on which he agreed to perform were in memorial concerts for his teacher, Felix Blumenfeld. As for as I know, there is only one available recording of his - a Melodya double-LP called "F.M. Blumenfeld's Pupils", which also contains recordings of Horowitz, Barere and Grinberg.
